Playing vs Practicing

Writer: Moira LevantMoira Levant

I encourage my students to think of playing their violin, or fiddle, at home as play instead of practice. One idea to help practice be more like play:

Write down on slips of paper the pieces (and/or etudes) you want to play. Put the slips of paper in a hat, or box, and pull out one at a time. Play what you pull out.
